HOW DO I BECOME A CHILD CARE PROVIDER?

Individuals interested in becoming an ODJFS certified child care provider should  contact the child care coordinator to schedule a face to face meeting. Individuals have the choice of becoming a “Type B Provider” or a “Limited Type B (PPI) Provider”. A Type B provider can provide care for multiple families’ children with a limit of 6 children at one time in the home. A Limited Type B (PPI) provider can provide care for only one family at a time with a limit of 6 children at one time in the home. During the face to face meeting, the individual will be provided with a packet of information that will include all documents necessary to complete the certification process.  The child care coordinator will also explain all requirements for becoming an ODJFS certified provider.
